The problem

A locally produced candle brand competing with imported names needed retail distribution and a store that could run seasonal collections without a person editing hundreds of variants by hand.

What we built

A Shopify store selling collections rather than single products — seasonal ranges, gift sets and a perfume line — with Appstle subscriptions, bulk variant scripts, free shipping over 145 lei, Romanian and English storefronts, a restructured Meta ads account, Instagram DM automation in n8n, and a sub-brand, Scenta Atelier.

Decisions that mattered

Retail alongside DTC

Pure DTC meant paying Meta for every customer. Getting into Douglas, Cărturești and BookCity took slower commercial work and gave a second channel that keeps selling when ads are off.

Automate variants and DMs before scaling ads

More traffic would have exposed the manual work first. Bulk variant scripts and n8n DM automation went in ahead of spend so the shop and inbox could take the volume.
