The problem
Romanian companies keep vehicle logbooks by law. Every incumbent tool optimises the calculation and still expects a human to type in every fuel receipt.
What we built
A Romanian SaaS with iOS and Android apps in the stores, running in the browser with nothing to install. Receipts are photographed and read by OCR plus an LLM, so the data entry disappears rather than getting faster. Logbooks are filled in correctly so car costs stay 100% deductible, with a 30-day free trial and support by phone and email. The lineage goes back to a 2009 desktop program; the cloud version launched in 2017 and has had 30 minutes of unplanned downtime since. Mobile apps by Andreea Vișan.
Decisions that mattered
Attack data entry, not calculation
Better calculation was the obvious feature and the crowded one. Removing typing entirely meant accepting OCR error handling as a core product problem.
OCR first, LLM second
An LLM alone on a photo was expensive per receipt. OCR extracts, the model interprets and corrects — cheaper per scan and easier to debug when a receipt reads wrong.
Native apps in stores before a web push
Receipts get photographed at the pump. Store presence cost review cycles and was where the product is actually used.
